Standard things come with the house from the get-go. Options are those extra features that personalize a new home. Make sure you know which is which, and which ones you want. Ask questions if you’re not sure—we’ll be happy to go through every one with you.

GET AN INSPECTION AND HOME WARRANTY

This is for your benefit, and ours. We stand behind our quality, but having it all in writing is prudent and essential to a good relationship. When choosing a home warranty, consider the upkeep of your new home over the next 10 years and make sure it explicitly states what is covered and what is not.

Whether you use our lender or one of your own choosing, always ask for special funding programs. You never know what is available to you. Learn about the process on your own and read everything. There will be contracts, disclaimers, restrictions and possible community association bylaws. Familiarize yourself now. Then sign, get the keys and move in (the second-most-fun part).
